Craig Patterson recently secured a $2.5 million loan to renovate East Hampton Bowl, which he has owned for more than 30 years.

Friday night at the benefit preview of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons’ garden fair, the alliance will honor James Jeffrey, who became a member in the early 1990s, about five years after it was founded. The preview, which will feature wine and things to nibble on as people shop for plants, will take place at the Bridgehampton Historical Society grounds from 6 to 8 p.m. The fair will be at the same place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets to the preview cost $50.
Despite rumors that a fitness studio or CVS would replace East Hampton Bowl, the owner recently learned that financing for a $2.5 million renovation of the lanes had come through.
Michael Disher, the artistic director of Center Stage at the Southampton Cultural Center, is gearing up for the July run of the musical “Cabaret” by holding auditions on Sunday and Monday. Rehearsals will begin this month.
